Matt Damon shows us his Pienaar

Although (the forever associated) Ben Affleck is much more conventinally good-looking, it is Matt Damon who manages to be the sexier of the pair by miles - maybe it's because he's so much more charismatic an actor.

Anyway, February 2010 sees the UK release of Invictus, which is essentially a Clint Eastwood-directed Golden Globe-nominated movie about how Nelson Mandela (played by Morgan Freeman) used rugby to help unite black and white South Africa and create a shared national passion, culminating in the Springbok's 1995 Rugby World Cup win.

Matt Damon plays legendary Springbok's captain François Pienaar.

Although shorter than Pienaar and the rest of the squad, Damon has ditched the weight he put on for The Informant!, trained hard and piled on the muscle - why is this never possible for we mere mortals?

Also of interest... Damon and director Paul Greengrass will return to make a fourth Jason Bourne film, planned as The Bourne Legacy. Steven Soderbergh has also confirmed that Damon will play longtime Liberace love interest, Scott Thorsen, opposite Michael Douglas [!] in an upcoming film about the camp icon.

Russell Tovey - Being Naked, sorry, Human

OK, in these pics he's spent the night as a werewolf and just woken up in a wood clutching the half-eaten corpse of a deer, but you've got to love Russell Tovey in BBCthree's Being Human.

I loved him as Gavin and Smithy's mate Budgie too. And in The History Boys.

There's something very appealling about the 'normalness' of Russell Tovey's body - not to mention his willingness to strip off - all in the name of art.

Tomasz Schafernaker

Most of my traffic on this humble site comes from Google searches - and the most popular search is sexy young BBC weatherman Tomasz Schafernaker (usually followed the words 'gay' or 'naked').

Well, I have no idea if the lovely Tomasz is of the lavender persuasion, although he has always set my gaydar off at a low rumble and his BBC weather profile notes that 'Tomasz lives in west London with his two housemates, he enjoys jogging and his local gym. He frequently travels to Gdansk but he also loves the climate of south Florida...' If you find sharing with housemates, going to the gym and a fondess for south Florida 'suggestive' (never mind an Attitude cover) then there you go.

For evidence of his fondess of the gym - and for those of you who so often Google 'Tomasz Schafernaker naked' I give you this...

It's pretty good, isn't it. You can buy your own copy with the latest issue of Attitude - the one with rugby hero Gareth Thomas looking iconic on the front [see below].

He is Spartacus

Sword and sandals epics seem to be very much back in vogue with the forthcoming Clash of the Titans remake - starring the splendid Sam Worthington - and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time - starring the thinking man's hunk and everyone's favourite gay cowboy Jake Gyllenhaal.

Anyway, here's Welsh-born Australian [?] actor and former model Andy Whitfield in new US TV series Spartacus: Blood and Sand.

Nice chest. And I especially like the loincloth-clad chunky fellows behind Andy in the bottom picture...

For any of you who are really gay, the series also stars former Xena star Lucy Lawless, John Hannah (of Four Weddings fame) and at least two other hunky Aussie actors.

Olly Barkley

I saw something in a magazine - Men's Health, I think it was - that reminded me of Bath and England rugby player Olly Barkley - and how absurdly beautiful-looking he is. If he was any lovelier I would sware he were Australian...

For more evidence, check out the gallery on his website for some stunning pictures.

The shot below is from the recent 'naked' issue of Attitude magazine. I don't think the angle flatters his body but the face is gorgeous.

And I've remembered... it was a campaign for Sealy beds...
