As well as revealing that they briefly considered changing their name to The English to give them a fresh start marking the return of the dreaded Robbie Williams, the band have revealed the album artwork for their new album Progress.

Echoing the famous evolutionary 'ascent of man' the band appear to be naked, starting from a primal crouching Gary Barlow, through Mark, Robbie, Howard and finally Jason as the most evolved - alas this appears to include his having been neutered. Obviously they didn't have the balls to go all the way.

I'm not sure quite why the fact that Lancashire cricketer James Anderson appears naked in the October issue of Attitude has made the mainstream media in such a big way, considering that Attitude and GT magazines have regularly been featuring increasingly prominent male celebrities in various states of undress for several months.

In any case, I'm just pleased that the handsome Anderson - long a favourite of CUBLAND - has chosen to do and say what he has in the name of combatting homophobia in sport - although with the recent retirement of Andrew Flintoff, it doesn't do Jimmy's public profile any harm...

This is just what I need especially now that I am the father of two beautiful boys that are so full of light and who with their outlook teach me new things every day. To keep living as I did up until today would be to indirectly diminish the glow that my kids where born with. Enough is enough. This has to change. This was not supposed to happen 5 or 10 years ago, it is supposed to happen now. Today is my day, this is my time, and this is my moment.

These years in silence and reflection made me stronger and reminded me that acceptance has to come from within and that this kind of truth gives me the power to conquer emotions I didn't even know existed.

What will happen from now on? It doesn't matter. I can only focus on what's happening to me in this moment. The word "happiness" takes on a new meaning for me as of today. It has been a very intense process. Every word that I write in this letter is born out of love, acceptance, detachment and real contentment. Writing this is a solid step towards my inner peace and vital part of my evolution.

I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man. I am very blessed to be who I am.

Russell Tovey has joked that the majority of his fans are "middle-aged, balding men".

Speaking to Gay Times, the Being Human star also revealed that fans of the show are often older women with children.

"I think we get more mums," he said. "My fanbase is middle-aged, balding gay men, which is great."

He added: "I think we're like the Spice Girls - people can find something in all of us they like."

Tovey, who appeared in the Doctor Who Christmas specials, is rumoured to be in line to join the Torchwood team alongside John Barrowman and Eve Myles.

Although (the forever associated) Ben Affleck is much more conventinally good-looking, it is Matt Damon who manages to be the sexier of the pair by miles - maybe it's because he's so much more charismatic an actor.

Anyway, February 2010 sees the UK release of Invictus, which is essentially a Clint Eastwood-directed Golden Globe-nominated movie about how Nelson Mandela (played by Morgan Freeman) used rugby to help unite black and white South Africa and create a shared national passion, culminating in the Springbok's 1995 Rugby World Cup win.

Matt Damon plays legendary Springbok's captain François Pienaar.

Although shorter than Pienaar and the rest of the squad, Damon has ditched the weight he put on for The Informant!, trained hard and piled on the muscle - why is this never possible for we mere mortals?

Also of interest... Damon and director Paul Greengrass will return to make a fourth Jason Bourne film, planned as The Bourne Legacy. Steven Soderbergh has also confirmed that Damon will play longtime Liberace love interest, Scott Thorsen, opposite Michael Douglas [!] in an upcoming film about the camp icon.
